PerfectTune is the ultimate tuner for stringed instruments. Not only does it feature a lightning fast pitch detection system, that is unparalleled by any other tuner on the AppStore, it also comes with an innovative multi-string layout that lets you tune your instrument quickly to a great variety of tunings.
PerfectTune features optimized algorithms for Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Violin, Cello, Ukelele and other stringed instruments, and for each these you can choose from a range of relevant tunings. Theres dropped and open tunings for guitar, period tunings for lute, support for 5 and 6-string bass guitars and various types of banjo.
In the innovative Strings view, all strings of the current instrument are laid out on the screen, making it very easy to quickly tune up. When you select a different tuning, such as Open D for guitar, the pitches in the Strings view are adjusted, helping you adjust the changed strings in a matter of seconds.
The smart calibration system lets you either enter a reference frequency by hand, or calibrate automatically to a played note. This makes it very easy to get yourself in tune to a fixed-pitch instrument, such as a piano, organ or pitched percussion.

Great app, one of the few iPhone tuners that actually works! In fact, it beats my Korg tuner both for speed and ease of use. The tunings are a cool too; recommended!
I have not had any crackling sound issues since the developer corrected the problem in Version 1.3. As a result, Im giving it four stars - up from three. The five star rating will come when users can add their own tunings in a later version. If this happens - this could be the best app available for tuning instruments. Loving it in the mean time. Heres hoping.
The overview mode where you see all your strings at once is fanatastic. I can tune quicker with this tuner than any other Ive ever used, manual or digital. Simply great value.
Great app made it easy to tune my daughters guitar in just a few mins. Worked fine on my iPad

All of you people that give it a thumbs down are nut jobs. This app works great. I tuned my violin in a heartbeat. Much better than the others. I give two thumbs up
Some bad moments
This app crashes every time I open it. And it is not very accurate at all.
i have an ipod touch 3rd generation and i am running on the 4.0.2 software. when i plug in my headphones with the built in mic, nothing shows up, and it cant detect the sound. to be sure it wasnt the headphones, i went to voice memos and it picked up the sound there. this looks like a great app if it would work. please fix!!!!!!!!
i think it might be a compatibility issue
other possible buyers..... get pitchbot, another app almost like this....but better!!!!
Great app, just one problem. It isnt accurate. Sorta a requirement for a tuner, dont you think?
A COMPLETE waste of money.
I would give this 1 in a half but I cat. It didnt have the trumpet or trombone. The tunes of the other instruments were good though
I can get the higher stings to tune... But the A was very difficult and I cant get the E at all... Im tuning 440... So far none of these bass tuners seem to work well..
Worked great for a while but then started kicking out after opening. I deleted, reinstalled, rebooted numerous times, but it is still not working. Anyone else got an idea?
